Student Spotlight — Heather Hayes

Student Spotlights allow us to recognize those whose contributions make Holberton Tulsa a welcoming, uplifting community. Why did you choose to learn programming/coding?

Heather: I've always had a fascination with technology, so I started asking friends and family about their careers, particularly if they loved what they did. The answers that truly resonated with me all revolved around jobs in the technology field. Interestingly, a friend introduced me to Holberton, the rest is history.

Tell us about your program and why you’re excited!

Heather: I'm currently enrolled in the Full Stack program. One of the highlights for me was the designer language projects in T3. It was a three-part project that ignited my creative spark. I was so inspired that I even took on side projects outside of the school curriculum to further explore my passion for design. What is your favorite thing about being a Holberton Student?

Heather: Without a doubt, my favorite aspect of being a Holberton student is the incredible sense of community we share. The bonds I've formed with my peers, who have now become dear friends, make every challenge and every tear shed during our toughest projects absolutely worth it. It's remarkable how much support I feel not only from my own cohort but from those who came before and after us, as well as the dedicated staff who are there for us every step of the way. The program's intensity might be fast-paced, but it's precisely that pace that forges such strong connections in record time.
